Don't Let Anyone Tell You It Was "Just a Fall"

Slip and fall accidents are routinely dismissed as minor incidents — but they can cause fractures, spinal injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and chronic pain that last for years. Property owners and their insurance companies work hard to shift blame onto the victim: "You weren't watching where you were going."

George Oginni builds the case that puts responsibility where it belongs: on the property owner who knew (or should have known) about the dangerous condition and failed to fix it or warn you. He investigates surveillance footage, incident reports, maintenance records, and inspection logs to prove negligence.

Common Causes of Slip & Fall Injuries

Wet or Slippery Floors
Spills, mopping, leaks, or rain tracked in from outside — without warning signs or prompt cleanup.
Uneven or Broken Pavement
Cracked sidewalks, potholes, and raised curbs outside businesses, apartments, and public buildings.
Inadequate Lighting
Poorly lit parking lots, stairwells, and hallways that make hazards invisible until it's too late.
Defective Stairs & Handrails
Missing, broken, or unstable handrails and stair surfaces that shift underfoot.
Floor Debris & Obstacles
Items left in walkways, loose rugs, and merchandise blocking aisles in retail environments.
Construction Zone Hazards
Open floors, unmarked drop-offs, and debris in areas where members of the public have access.

Proving a Slip & Fall Case in Texas

What Must Be Proven

Texas law requires showing that: (1) a dangerous condition existed on the property; (2) the owner knew or should have known about it; (3) the owner failed to fix it or warn visitors; and (4) that failure caused your injury.

"Should have known" is key — if a hazard existed long enough that a reasonable inspection would have found it, the property owner is liable whether they actually knew or not.

Preserve Evidence Immediately

Surveillance footage is often overwritten within 24–72 hours. Wet floors dry. Incident reports get "corrected." If you were hurt at a business, call George immediately — before evidence disappears.

What to Do After a Slip & Fall

01
Report the accident to management immediately

Ask for a written incident report. Get a copy if possible. This creates an official record tied to the time of your fall.

02
Photograph everything before you leave

The wet floor, the missing sign, the broken step — whatever caused your fall. Photograph your injuries too.

03
Get witness contact information

Other shoppers or bystanders who saw you fall may be critical to your case.

04
Seek immediate medical attention

Even if you feel okay. A same-day medical record establishes the injury and connects it to the fall.

05
Do not sign anything from the business or their insurer

They may offer a fast settlement worth far less than you're owed. Talk to George first.
