Nobody Ever Plans on Getting Bitten Or Attacked By A Pitbull.

For most people, the thought of a Pitbull dog attack and being bitten or mauled by one or multiple Pitbull dogs are what nightmares are made of. God forbid this happens to you or a loved one, but if it does you should know what to do.

What Steps Should I Take Immediately After A Dog Attack?

  1. The first concern should always be for your safety! After being attacked by one or multiple Pitbulls, and you have gotten to a safe place, CALL THE POLICE!! The police will come and make a report that will document the incident.
  2. If the police have not done it, CALL ANIMAL CONTROL. Make a report to animal control to document what happened and identify the dogs that attacked you.

  4. Take Pictures and video of your wounds while they are fresh to document exactly what injuries the attacking dogs caused. This can be done while the police, ambulance, or animal control are on the way.

What Kind of Injuries Do Pitbull Dog Attacks Cause?

Pitbull dogs, statistically attack and bite people more often than most other breeds of dog. Many Pitbull dog owners have more than one Pitbull, which is why negligent Pitbull dog owners tend to be the cause of dog attacks involving multiple Pitbull dogs.

Pitbulls are usually heavily muscled, have large powerful jaws, and are very fast over a short distance. Because of this, Pitbull attacks often result in deep puncture wounds from canine teeth and lacerated torn skin/muscle from violent head shaking during an attack.

Pitbull dog attacks often involve the animal biting and locking down while violently shaking their head. This can result in horrible, disfiguring injuries; especially to children.

Can I Get Compensated for Mental Anguish After A Pitbull Attack?

Yes. Mental anguish, pain and suffering, lost wages, and compensation for future treatment or disfigurement are all possible if you were attacked by a Pitbull dog. For most people who are bitten by a Pitbull or attacked by multiple Pitbull dogs and are able to get away, dealing with the nightmares and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) that may haunt you forever is often worse than the attack itself.

Do Not Negotiate with The Dog Owner or Their Insurance By Yourself!

The dog owner and their insurance company have ONE goal; pay you as little as possible for you to GO AWAY! If you are bitten by a Pitbull, do not make any statements to the dog owner or their insurance company representative. CALL A DOG BITE LAWYER and let the lawyer do the talking for you.

Get as much information about the dogs that attacked and bit you, the dog owner, and any witnesses that saw what happened. Today, many homes have cameras and the homeowners are usually able and willing to provide video of the dog attack. Make sure you find out who might have video and get their information!
